Ne t’arrête pas.

This is for Katrin. Especially since “Kit” and “Kite” only differ in a single letter, this could be made for you. I hope you have the time of your life in America, enjoy every moment and wake up with a smile on your lips every single morning. Let nothing get you down and don’t be afraid of changes. But, and I’m serious about that, if you don’t come back home next year, I will come and fetch you personally. Thank you so much for being my friend throughout all those years; thank you for listening to me, for giving good and bad advice, for entertaining me during boring lessons (Katrin? Ja? *Finger in Backe bohr* *2 Finger hochhalt*), for burning our maths stuff together with Aylay, for watching the women’s soccer championship, for coffee, tea and sympathy and simply for being the wonderful woman you just are – and for making me the woman I am now.

Cerf-volant
Volant au vent
Ne t’arrête pas
Vers la mer
Haut dans les airs
Un enfant te voit
Voyage insolent
Troubles enivrants
Amours innocentes
Suivent ta voie
Suivent ta voie
En volant
Cerf-volant
Volant au vent
Ne t’arrête pas
Vers la mer
Haut dans les airs
Un enfant te voit
Et dans la tourmente
Tes ailes triomphantes
N’oublie pas de revenir
Vers moi

Paper kite
Flying in the wind
Don’t stop
Over the ocean
High in the skies
A child watches you
Insolent journey
Exhilarating troubles
Innocent love
Follow your way
Follow your way
Flying
Paper kite
Flying in the wind
Don’t stop
Over the ocean
High in the skies
A child watches you
And while turning
On your triumphant wings
Don’t forget to come
Back to me
